About Home Care Hallandale Beach
A small office arranging non-clinical care in people's own homes, run close enough to the rounds to answer an availability question while you are still on the phone.
What the office does
Non-clinical care in private houses along the south Broward shoreline: help with washing and dressing, safe movement around the house, meals cooked where they will be eaten, enough upkeep that the place keeps working, and somebody in it who is decent company.
There is no building to attend and no nursing. Anything that turns out to need a clinician is named as such and the household is directed to the right kind of provider, which costs us a booking and remains the only sensible answer.
The work of the office is three things: deciding who goes where, writing down what was agreed, and answering the telephone quickly enough to be useful. Rotas and invoices are mechanical. Matching an aide to a household is not, and it is the decision that determines whether an arrangement lasts a year or a month.
How availability is answered
One person holds the rounds
The rounds are not held in a system somebody has to query. They are held by a person who knows which houses sit on them, which is why a street and an hour is enough to answer with.
Plans are written, then corrected
A plan goes to the household before anybody works to it. Corrections come back more often than not, and that is the point of sending it.
Supervisors come to the house
Supervision run from a desk will not catch a difficult transfer, or a dinner that keeps going back half eaten. The person holding your plan watches the work being done.
An outside accreditor checks the files
Training records and supervisory visits get examined by an outside accreditor rather than merely described, which is a different thing from saying oversight exists.
Four questions worth asking anybody
Who exactly is coming. Will we meet them beforehand. What were they screened for. Who supervises them, and has that person ever been in the house.
